August - 4

The rest of August...

I had enrolled Avery in preschool during the spring... but when I got the first parent letter, along with a school supply list, I must admit I had a moment. :) How could my baby girl be ready for school??

I wanted Avery to be able to help with buying her school supplies, so I made her her very own list (with pictures of each item).

Avery loved looking for the supplies that matched her pictures.  She seemed so grown up checking everything off.  Her mommy really likes lists... perhaps she will, too. :) Oh and we had to get an icee to celebrate.

This is my "dancing baby".  He loves Backyardigans and usually does a jig if we turn them on. :)

Avery likes to help wake her brother up after his morning nap... she gets so anxious for him to get up and play!  She enjoys playing in his bed.  Ezra just wants to climb it.

Now and then I get snuggles after nap time... love love love.

Sutton started coming over one day/week once school started.  We welcomed him with a tea party. :)

We had a church staff (and spouse) lunch at the Art Museum.  The food was SO good - and the kids loved the glass bridge. :)

You all know that I'm a Kansas State Alum... I am a Wildcat all the way.  My husband, on the other hand... well, he's a KU fan.  I know... ugh.  In honor of his birthday, I humored him by taking this picture.  I hope it's earned me wifey points for a while...! :) Happy 31st birthday, My Love!

My mom found some old pictures and came across this one of my grandpa holding me.  I love it.  I miss him so much...

You all know Avery loves the stage, but I wonder if Ezra will follow in her footsteps??

Babies cracking up laughing... one of the best sounds in the world.  Ezra is so silly!

So cool!  We had hot air balloons fly over our house one night!  It was beautiful out, so Avery and I watched them for a while.

I kept trying to get a video of Ezra taking a step.  He would do 2 or 3 at this point, but all I got on video was one. :)

As I started to think about weaning Ezra, I thought I'd have him try some cold breastmilk in a sippy.  I don't know why I was surprised - he loved it.  There's nothing he doesn't like to eat/drink. :)

We had meet-your-teacher night at Avery's preschool.  We were all very excited!

Avery got her first homework assignment that night.  Daddy helped her with it.  So precious...

An outing to the zoo with my sis and her kiddos.  I completely love that Avery and Malachi like to hold hands.  I know it won't last, so I'll enjoy it while it does. :)

As we got home from the zoo and pulled into our garage, a grasshopper jumped onto my windshield.  Avery got so excited and asked me to catch it for her.  She talked to him and named him "Chipper" while I got Ezra ready for nap.

I have never seen this kid so zonked out.  He fell asleep on the way home from the zoo.  He stayed asleep as I got him out of his car seat, took him inside, laid him down, took off his shoes, (took a picture), changed his diaper, and put him in his bed!!

Avery started gymnastics this fall - yay!  She didn't have any leotards, so I asked facebook friends where to find some.  My friend Heather (went to college with her) was so kind and gave us a couple of leotards that her daughter had outgrown.  Thank you, Heather!  Avery wore one around all day after we got it. :)
