Since we had so many family Christmases coming up, we decided to celebrate with our little family on Christmas-eve-eve. :)
We started out the morning by reading the Christmas story from Avery's Bible.
Our Christmas tree... Joe loves me well and lets me get a real tree, even though he's the one that ends up doing all the hard work to get it, put it up, recycle it, etc. :) Thanks, Love.
Asher celebrated with us :)
Avery loves to collect coins, so she was pretty excited about her new piggy bank. :)
Silly half-smile... Daddy got her a cute new dress!
Daddy got gloves that he can use his iPhone while wearing.
Our absolute favorite moment of the morning is coming up... Avery loves this show on Netflix called Pingu. It's a claymation penguin that interacts with his family and does silly stuff - all without using any intelligible words. So educational. The thing is, she cracks up the entire time she's watching it - it's hilarious. She asks to watch Pingu all the time...
So I found a stuffed Pingu online - and he talks! Well, makes his "sounds" anyway.
As Avery opened this gift and realized what it was... so priceless.
Squeezing his tummy...
... and hearing him talk!
We should have saved Pingu for very last - he was a hit. :)
Next Avery opened her gift from Uncle Matt and Aunt Bek...
She LOVES books! We read this at least once each day. Thanks Matekah! :)
Then Avery got to open her gift from Grandpa Lynn and Grandma Chelle (they live in Florida).
La-Loopsy (sp?) tree house! She was SOOO excited. Avery loves all things tiny, so she wanted to play with it right away (but it took mom + dad + army + scissors + pliers + 30 minutes to get it out :))!
Ezra enjoyed his view of the festivities.
Thanks Grandpa Lynn and Grandma Chelle!
The damage :)
Afterwards, I asked Avery if she liked her gifts... and I loved her response. She said, "Of course Mommy! They're amazing! But Christmas isn't about gifts, it's about baby Jesus being born! Can we go see him now?" :)
Oh and Ezra loves his gift from Grandpa Lynn and Grandma Chelle, too - he liked it much better after this pic, when we put it upright and let him kick it. :)
It was fun having our first Christmas as a family of four... and the celebrations were just beginning!

my kids love Pingu, too!! We discovered it when Jacob was about 1 1/2. It's hilarious! He's actually speaking Swedish (Dutch?)...the series is a Swedish production.
