Another SNOW DAY!

Avery and I feel like we've been cooped up for a while.

She gets so excited to see the snow - and she wants to go outside and play in it... but it's too cold.  As in -20 degree windchill kind of cold.  Too cold.

It's hard for her to understand why she can't play outside... and Tuesday she was tired of playing with her usual toys... so I decided to get creative.

Avery loves trying on necklaces, bracelets, hats, headbands, etc. so I had an idea.  I got out my big tub of randomness (aka costumes) and let Avery help me open it.

She was SO excited.

We were able to kill about an hour just trying things on, laughing, looking in the mirror, and being silly.  It was awesome.

By the way, yes we were still in our jammies (hey, it was mid-morning :)).

Asher wanted to play, too.

After Avery's nap, I brought some snow inside so she could play.  :)

Yes, the spoons are from Orange Leaf - they make great snow-sculpting tools!

I love this video because Avery shares her snow with Asher. :)

Oh that's such a good idea about bringing the snow inside! I hope we get snow again so we can try it. Liam hates being out in the snow (even if it isn't too cold) so this would be perfect. I think I've seen too where you can add food coloring to water and let them pain the snow. Wish I would have seen it back when we had some--it didn't occur to me then. OH, and we made snow-cream for the first time the last time it snowed--I'd never even heard of it growing up, but it is HUGE here in the south. Also, surprisingly YUMMY!

And I'm right there with you on the cabin fever. It's this time of year me and the kids get a little nutty from the lack of fresh air and sunshine. Just yesterday I decided to put together some little montessori trays (valentine themed) for the kids to play with. A snow tray would be so cool! Although, secretly glad the blizzard missed us here! It sounds like it has been bad in places! STAY WARM! ~Jennifer (Hadsall) Elitzin~
