Time sure flies...

I can't believe Avery is 4 weeks old already! These past 4 weeks have been a whirlwind... I am not sure I'd know whether it's day or night if it weren't for the sun. :) I feel sleep-deprived, but I really can't complain - for the last week Avery has slept at least 5 hours at some point during the night. Last night she went 7 1/2!!!! I woke up panicked at first, but she was still out cold. I had to wake her up to feed her! I am continuously learning in this journey of breastfeeding, but I feel like it's going pretty well. The only downside to her sleeping that long during the night is that I wake up feeling like I'm going to explode! :)

Every day is a treasure... I am enjoying Avery's new sounds - her little "aah" and coos and ohs.  I love how she'll lock her gaze with mine - it's like she knows who I am and how much I love her.  Oh - and maybe it was a fluke, but Friday she rolled over from tummy to back!

Here are a few pics of the last couple weeks...

One of my favorite things - her smile as she dreams...

This one is a little blurry, but Joe wanted to capture this moment and my camera was on a weird setting. :) I guess we both crashed and slept like this for quite a while. :)

Hmmm... do I know how cute I am??

We went to watch Daddy play softball - as you can see, Avery was really into the game!

She did wake up for a little bit :) I hope her eyes stay blue like Joe's!

We also visited Grandma Bubba at VBS - I think Avery was trying to sing the songs :)

I just love her little feet :)

Avery had her first girls' night with Grandma Bubba, Aunt Tassy (Cassy :)), and Gina!  We forgot to take the pic before Cassy left :(

Such a peaceful sleeper.

Grandma Bubba & I took Avery on her first walk yesterday.  It was just around the block (I'm still moving slow), but it was fun!

There are definitely ups and downs, but I am loving every minute of being a mom to my daughter.  Another one of my favorite things is watching Joe be a Daddy.  Avery loves his voice - and I love how he talks and cuddles with her.  He has been amazing - so encouraging.  I couldn't do this without him.

great pics!

i know what you mean about "exploding" it seriously feels like that! i still experience it b/c Lo is such an erratic sleeper!

Lo rolled over like that when she was 2 or 3 days old but never did it again until a few weeks ago...i don't think anything is a fluke, she is just warning you at how strong she is! :)

get some rest, it is hard i still need rest!
