Avery's Announcement

Avery has some big news to share with you all!

It took a while to get it right... this was the best take we got. :) I love how at the end she says, "Hi.  Hi.  I'm in the bars!" :)

Yes, it's true... Avery is going to be a big sister!

Details?
I found out on Valentine's Day...

As of Friday I'm 13 weeks along...

Due October 21st...
Joe is going to be out of town October 17th-27th, so doc said he'd induce on the 14th so Joe won't miss the arrival!

Feeling absolutely horrible...
Do you all remember how sick I was with Avery?  Well, this isn't quite as bad, but it's still awful.  With Avery I couldn't walk, and I can walk this time... so I guess it's an improvement. :)

We're SO excited to be adding Skillen Baby #2 to our family!  Oh yeah, just like last time, we won't be finding out what we're having until the little one arrives, so you'll have to be patient. :) Of course we WANT to know, and of course we'll be anxious!  We loved having the surprise at the end last time - Joe LOVED going out to the hospital lobby and announcing "IT'S A GIRL!" to everyone. :)

When Joe came home from work on Valentine's Day, he asked how my day was and proceeded to say "oh yeah, you had a busy day, didn't you?  You had a photo shoot - and before that you went bowling..." and I interjected, "Yeah, and before that I found out I'm pregnant" :) It totally took him off guard! :)

You see... my sister talked me into starting to try for #2.  I wasn't sure I was ready.  I mean, I was ready for Avery to have a sibling, but I wasn't sure I was ready to possibly be sick or possibly go through a labor, delivery, and recovery that could be similar to my first time.  So I reluctantly told her that we would just "not be as careful" starting in January, but not really "try" yet - lol.  I figured since it took us a while to get pregnant the first time, it would probably be the same story this time...

Not so much.

Pregnant the first month???  What???

I hardly believed the test when I saw it... and though Joe whooped and picked me up and spun me around... once he put me down he wanted to see the test as well. :) ha ha.

How did we tell our families?  We made calls for the most part... but we had Aaron, Cassy, Malachi, and my parents over for dinner.  Avery had a hoodie on over a shirt I made and right before we sat down to eat, I took it off her and waited for them to see... but no one noticed.  So I asked my Mom to put Avery in her chair - next thing I hear is "Big sister?  What?" WAIT! REALLY!?!?"

It was hilarious.  We all started screaming and laughing, but my Dad couldn't see Avery's shirt and was so confused!  When he saw it and it clicked, his face was priceless (wish I had a pic to share - it was awesome). :) It's so fun to have the excitement and support of our families!

We are excited about this next phase in our lives - we can't wait to meet this little one!

I apologize for the lack of posting... the computer screen adds to my nausea.  Please be patient - I hope to feel better soon!!

PS - belly pics to come... because, YEP I'm already pooching out! :) Aaaah!
